Video review K2 Mindbender 90ti All-mountain Ski

maxresdefault-2

The K2 Minderbender 90 comes from quite a wide range of Mindbender skis. Certainly if you include the Mindbender Alliance, the version for ladies. In part this has to do with the different widths the Mindbender is offered in. The Mindbender that we toke with us on this review is the 90mm and is therefore very much ready for “the hardpack, the blown out sastrugi – yeah that’s a word – and churn and burn no matter what’s in front of you” According to K2.

Conditions

Kaiserswetter: a bright wintersun in the blue sky, temperatures constantly nicely below zero. The fresh snow that had fallen the day before remained nice and dry all day and the slopes were quite soft. At the end of the day the snow had been skied to messy moguls in many places.

The K2 Minderbender 90ti

According to our head reviewer Stijn, the K2 Mindbender is an absolutely very versatile ski to have fun with in all circumstances and terrain types. All-mountain is a ski category where Stijn feels most at home, because you only need one ski that should effortlessly switch between on and off pistes, corduroy beneath blue bird skies and inches of powder bliss. During our two days Stijn also rode a lot of different conditions, and agrees that the ski can really do everything really well. A lot of fun on the slopes as well as ripping in powder.

The “All-Terrain Rocker” (slight upward curve of the ski towards the tip) ensures that the ski also turns easily. Edge to edge is really smooth and easy, which gives a lot of confidence. The ski is still stable at speed and comes out of the turns really nicely. So you can really have a blast all over the mountain without worrying about the weather.

Target Audience

Even though generally speaking the All-mountain category aims at a higher proficiency level (certainl if you go out of bounds) thanks to the comfortable flex and easy turn initiation, Stijn would also dare to send less experienced skiers away with the ski. A ski that therefore not only can handle a wide variety of snow and weather conditions, but is also suitable for a broad target audience. As long as “fun” is your most important motivator, then this K2 is very good for you.
