maxresdefault-1
Taking place July 5 – 8, the 2018 Arc’teryx Alpine Academy in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc will once again bring together more than 500 alpine enthusiasts, mountain guides and professional athletes from all over the world. Set in the midst of Europe’s mountaineering heritage, the 7th edition of the popular alpine event creates a space where beginners and experts alike can gain alpine knowledge and advance their mountain skills through top-notch clinics and by sharing unforgettable experiences in a unique environment. Registration starts on March 21 at 15:00 CET. One major component of the Arc’teryx Alpine Academy are the guided clinics which offer a unique educational experience and great value for money. The clinics allow participants to choose their skill level and field of interest, amongst others mountaineering, climbing, ski alpinism, trail running and rescuing. This year more than 30 elite clinics await the alpine enthusiasts on breath-taking playfields including Les Grand Montets, l’Aiguille du Midi, Brévent and La Mer de Glace. The clinics give participants the opportunity to improve their mountain skills and learn from 120+ professional mountain guides and 30+ world-class athletes including Nina Caprez, Will Gadd, Thibaud Duchosal and Ines Papert. This year new programs are offered including trail running clinics at a variety of skill levels, environmental clinics and overnight climbing bivy clinics. A detailed overview of all clinics can be found on chamonix.arcteryxacademy.com. The Arc’teryx Alpine Academy experience continues at the ‘Alpine Village’ in the heart of Chamonix. It turns the popular Place Balmat into a buzzing hot spot open to everyone and offers beginners and experts a daily program with open-air master classes, a movie night featuring world premieres, concerts, athlete demos, bouldering and climbing walls, technical products testing, and many more activities from the Academy partners. The ‘Alpine Village’ is the place to be for all alpine enthusiasts to be part of the vibe of the 2018 Arc’teryx Alpine Academy .
