Videoreview: Atomic Redster X9 Wide body Alpine ski 2019-2020

Atomic-Redster-Header.001

It was a sunny day, with beautifully prepared pistes that were not super hard packed due to the fresh snowfall the day before. Ideal conditions to test the Atomic Redster X9 Wide body.

Our very experienced skier Stijn van Oss (86 kilos) had 176cm under his feet and was very satisfied with every centimeter of it. It is a very good all-round sport ski that really wants to go to it’s edges. In all radii, whether you are turning short, middle-long or long turns, the ski behaves extremely well. What Stijn clearly noticed about this ski is that it is very easy to steer with your toes. The ski reacts super alert to this. It sends into turns incredibly easily and you can enjoy swinging from edge to edge. It is a true “multi radius carver” as Stijn put it. If you think that the downside to maneuverability is instability at higher speeds, think again: besides the ski being very agile, the Redster is also very stable at higher speeds.

It’s is a piste oriented ski, but thanks to its width, the ski will also do well off-piste. For more information about the ski and all specifications check here.

For who is this ski?

On the one hand, it is a real performance ski for performance oriented skiers who want to charge, who love to ride full throttle on the edges, who love carving. On the other hand, the ski sends in so easily that Stijn can also imagine that less sporty or older skiers should also be fine.
