The Salomon Rumble Fish we road on in Stubai is a model of the 2016-2017 season, but the 2017-2018 model is almost the same, so this review will give you a nice impression of this season’s model as well.
It is a board developed specifically for ladies. It has a flex rating of 7 and has the Salomon specific “Flat out Rocker”. This means that under your bindings/feet the board runs to a camber, with a flat base between the bindings, and a rocker on the nose and tail.
The purpose of camber in a shape is to deliver grip and “pop”, (the effect that the board gives back energy that you put into it, important when jumping or blasting through carve turns), the purpose of a flat base is stability and the rocker is also there for that maneuverability.

This combination provides Dees (175 cm, 66 kg, and an experienced powerful snowboarder) a board that is playful but still remains stable at higher speed, giving you the confidence to raise your own bar. It’s a board that you really have to want to ride with purpose. It needs power and when you give it that, you will get that playfulness and power in return. It transitions from edge to edge fairly easily, keeps that edge at higher speed and responds well to what you put into it. A board that will do well in all areas, with a tendency towards freestyle.Salomon Rumble Fish
