Earlier we reported on the American bicycle accessories brand Lezyne. Among other things, we looked at their GPS devices, which together with the Lezyne Root website, ALLY app and integration with platforms like Strava, Trainingpeaks, and Today’s Plan, built a kind of ecosystem around bike-ride tracking and navigation.
The San Luis Obispo, California-based company has now come up with a new GPS. The Mega XL has a screen of 2.7 inches and can be used both vertically and horizontally. There is a huge variety of data fields that you can display over five different screens. The Mega C is smaller, with a 2.2-inch color screen.
On both of them, you can download maps, load routes or build them yourself and also ride them offline. What will come in pretty handy in the mountains when you can have bad cell reception. Lezyne claims that the battery will last for 48 hours at end.
LEZYNE GPS Mega XL:
Dimensions: 57,5 mm x 78,3 mm x 26,6 mm / 2,3 “x 3,1″ x 1 ”
Screen: 68,6 mm / 2,7 ”
Specs: Glonass/GPS, BTLE, ANT+
Barometer, Accelerometer, Navigation, Maps, Customisable fields, 48 uur battery time, 83gr
LEZYNE Mega C:
Dimensions: 50,5 mm x 77,2 mm x 26,9 mm / 2 “x 3″ x 1 ”
Screen: 55,9 mm / 2,2 ”
Specs: Colour display, Barometer, Accelerometer, Navigation, Maps.
The Mega C and Mega XL connect via Bluetooth with the GPS ALLY app so that you can keep your ride data synchronized. And when you’re connected, you can (if you want) see text messages, apps, e-mails and phone calls through your Lezyne GPS Mega.
All in all, we are curious about this new bike computer from Lezyne. We hope to be able to hit the trails with it soon.
